I’m a 30-something woman living in Houston, TX and doing some yoga. I’ve resolved to practice every day of 2010. Any type of yoga, any amount of time, no excuses. I’ve got a good library of DVDs to work from, but I’d also like to explore some of the great yoga studios around town and to try creating some flows of my own.
In the summer of 2002 I moved from New York City to Houston and realized I had a lot of post-9/11 feelings I hadn’t sorted through. As part of that process, I started practicing yoga and since then we’ve had a very on again off again relationship (lately more off than on).
Sometimes yoga provides a refuge, inspiration, or a healthy break in my cluttered day; sometimes the thought of getting on the mat makes me cringe. I’d like to see what happens if I hold myself accountable to a daily practice and try to push through on some of those days when I’d rather take a nap. Yoga and I may finish 2010 as best friends or worst enemies but either way we’ll get to know each other a little bit better.

Hey, after years of “i will be starting yoga”, this month, with the help of life changing events and more free time on my hands, I’ve started going to a yoga class. I’ve tried to make sure that I practise for one hour in the morning, but haven’t got around to doing it regularly. You’ve inspired me now with your commitment to yourself and I am going to try the same. Thanks!
